Programme of research in Haworth
- How the design space affects people performance
- How to get more healthier and more productive work life

New issues abou the work life:
Collaboration
Employee attraction and retention
Productivity
Life balance
Well being

Based on:
Quality of meeting spaces
Adjustability of workspace furnishing (affects the quality of leaning)
People, resources, wait time, rework...
Ergonomics of the workstation (size, materials, arrangements...)
Noise and visual distractions
Travel time

Environment issues: stress, performance, well being, engagement (people to people)

Example: Company "Delos" presented the "well building standard", where the person is at the center.

The "Well building standard" is based on 7 facets:
Air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort, mind.
It talks about connecting people back to the nature.
You can get your building certified.

They suggest a deep survey about "Quality of physical space and amenities", considering:
- Individual workspace
- Group and social spaces
- Technology use and integration
- Overall environment (food, water, air quality, bathroom, aesthetics, acoustics, branding)

Results based on:
- Stress symptoms: legibility of space, noise, acoustics, food, adjustability of furnishing
Performance and engagement: legibility of space, lighting quality, technology
Well being: quality and healthy food, quality meeting and social spaces
Design cost money because it brings good outcomes
